Pricing
How pricing works
A repair is priced to the part and the job, and a replacement to the house. This page names what moves the number. Your written quote has the amounts.
What decides the price
These change the number from one house to the next.
For a repair: the part, the time and how hard it is to reach
For a replacement: tonnage from the load calculation and the efficiency tier
Duct condition, the permit and any electrical work
Removal of the old system
What the quote includes, and what it doesn't
A repair quote lists the part, the labor and any warranty on the part. A replacement quote lists the scope line by line, the equipment by model, the permit, removal of the old system, the warranty terms and how long the quote holds.
Not included unless it is listed: duct replacement, an electrical panel upgrade, repairs to the house
If we find something outside the scope, we show you and quote it separately before work
What happens at the visit
A technician runs the system and writes down what was found. When you book, we tell you whether the visit has a fee and whether it is credited toward the repair.
After hours
We are a weekday shop with Saturday mornings, so there is no after-hours rate. Messages left at night are returned the next business morning. In a cold snap, tell us when you call and we will offer the earliest opening.
When you get the number
In writing, after the visit and before work starts. If the job changes, you see a changed quote and agree to it first.
Questions
About the quote
What does a replacement quote include?
The scope line by line, the equipment by model, the permit, removal of the old system, the warranty terms and how long the quote holds. How pricing works has the detail.
Can I get a second opinion from you on another company's quote?
Yes. Send us the quote or ask the other company for the scope and model. We'll tell you what is missing and whether a repair would do.
Will you tell me if my system can't be repaired?
Yes, and we tell you when it can. The quote says which it is and why. If a repair is the better buy, that is the quote we write.
Ready for a visit?
Tell us what you have and we will set a time.
